Gut-Healing Coconut Milk Matcha Latte

Are you a matcha lover or just trying to reduce your caffeine intake to lower anxiety or have better gut health or energy? You’ve gotta try this delicious, whole-food coconut milk matcha!
🍵

I recommend reducing caffeine for gut-healing and swapping from coffee to tea. Caffeine can have unwelcome affects on a lot of people, including gut irritation and loose stools, anxiety, difficulty sleeping and more.

Some people simply don’t metabolize caffeine well, so it can make them feel pretty awful. (Hello, it’s me and I’ll skip the anxiety please. 🙋‍♀️)

Ideally no caffeine would be best for gut health and energy in the long-run, but if you still want a little pick me up, this is a better option!

Matcha is a great alternative to coffee for so many reasons:

🍵It’s rich in antioxidants and polyphenols which are great for gut health and lowering oxidative stress.
🍵It’s lower in caffeine, which your stress hormone cortisol will thank you for!
🍵 Plus it contains l-theanine, a calming amino acid that will help you feel more stable and grounded if you’re caffeine-sensitive or deal with anxiety.

This one contains:
⭐️ Natural sweetners
⭐️ Gut-loving collagen
⭐️ Protein & healthy fats for blood sugar and cortisol control, so you have no crash or anxiety!

⭐️ No unhealthy dairy-free milks that could irritate the gut

Ingredients:

* 1/2 tsp matcha (I used Organic Traditions)
* 1/4 heaping cup + 1 tbsp coconut milk (full fat, canned)
* 1/4 c hot water or light almond/coconut milk
* 3 drops liquid stevia or monk fruit or 1/2 tsp raw local honey or maple syrup (not gonna lie, it is much better with honey or maple syrup, but for a very low sugar option, I’d opt for liquid monk fruit!)
* 2 scoops collagen (Find my favourite protein & collagen here)
* 1/2 tsp vanilla (organic)
* Pinch real salt
* Sprinkle cinnamon

How to Make It:

Blend then heat on the stove or make in a milk frother.

I make this in my vitamix so it’s frothy and creamy, but you can also heat it up in a pot then froth it with a hand blender!

Enjoy & tag me in your stories @flourishnaturalwellness when you make it!
