15 Free (or Very Cheap) and Easy Habits for a Healthier 2020

I 1000% understand how overwhelming it can be when you’re struggling with your health, and how expensive it can get - trust me! I’ve put together a list of things you can incorporate into your daily life to bring you closer to the healthy, whole self you want to be in #2020.

Some of these things I’ve made a habit of in 2019 (I literally have a written, daily healing schedule…) and some I need to pick up again because the little things add up and help immensely! Small habits can create BIG change overtime, so don’t underestimate them!

Remember also, that there is such a strong connection between your mind and body. Addressing your mental and emotional health is just as important (if not more important) than working on your physical body and health.

Tips for Holistic Health

  • Deep breathing - so underrated and SO beneficial! You can learn more about it here.

  • Journaling - one of my favourites to get out all the feelings without punching or screaming at people. Your loved ones will thank you ;)

  • Meditation - even 5 minutes is beneficial - your mind is powerful!

  • Prayer - my #1

  • Gratitude - practicing this daily has helped me through the really hard days in the depths of chronic illness - there’s always something to be thankful for, even if it’s just being able to get out of bed.

  • Visualization - again a SUPER underrated tool that is powerful!!

  • Speak good things over yourself, your body, your life, your relationships, etc. - words have power, people.

  • Write healing verses/quotes all over your house and say them daily!

  • Read an uplifting book - anything to get your mind off your situation.

  • Encourage a friend. Trust me, you’ll feel better.

  • Dry brushing - get that lymph flowing!

  • Detox baths - add some unscented Epsom salts, high quality essential oils & borax to purify the water

  • Go for a walk - definitely missing these now that it’s cold out

  • Hot yoga - calming and incredible for detoxification and improving mobility if you have chronic pain (or for anyone!)

  • Rebounding on a mini trampoline - excellent for lymphatic/immune health!
